Super Formula Lights series champion will be privileged to test in the Super Formula

As previously announced the Japanese Formula 3 championship ended its 41-year history and will bereborn for 2020 as a new series named Japanese Super Formula Lights championship (SFL). JapanFormula 3 Association has been closely working together with Japan Race Promotions to create an award,which privileges series champion to participate in the Super Formula rookie test.

The aim is to continue to undertake the role of the Japanese Formula 3 championship as a step up theladder for drivers to go up to higher series including the Super Formula championship, and put more focuson producing good drivers.
The Super Formula series has attracted more domestic and international attention lately, and we believetesting in the Japan’s top-tier series will give SFL’s champions a great opportunity to further develop theircareers.

We are currently finalizing the 2020 testing schedule with distance to cover to allow youngsters to gain good experience in the championship, and hope to confirm the details of the 2020 season including theentrants as soon as possible.
